Stover Fair News

Just added to this years entertainment are Professor Farquahr and Polecat Annie. We are also pleased to welcome Thorni Ridge Exotic Animals

There will not be an archery tournament at this year’s fair. We look forward to seeing it again next year.

For the third year in a row the readers of Missouri Magazine have named the Stover Fair Missouri’s BEST Community Event.

Regardless of the uncertainty about when things will return to normal in the country, the fair board is still planning to hold the Stover Fair if at all possible. Any mandated safety guidelines will be followed and there is no change of date planned at this time.

The Stover Fair Board annual fundraiser breakfast has been cancelled for this year. Unfortunately the fair board did not feel that we could provide adequate safety protocols in the breakfast environment and did not want to put the health of the community at risk.

The Stover Fair Board would like to thank everyone who came out to support the fair at our annual fundraiser breakfast.

For the second year in a row the readers of Missouri Magazine have named the Stover Fair Missouri’s BEST Community Event.

The Unique Stitchers ‘n’ More Quilt Guild has decided to not have a quilt show this year. It was always a popular part of the fair and will be missed.

Without a quilt show this year, the Stover Community Center is available for an event that would compliment the fair. If you have a suggestion, send it to:

Welcome to our new website! We hope to bring you more content about the fair in a more user-friendly format than we could before. We are still building it so keep checking back for updates.

Once again this year we will have a 3D archery tournament to be run by Harry of the Huntin and Fishin with Harry radio show on KDRO. There will be classes for youth, women, bow hunter and open.

Parking for the fair this year will be in the parking lot on the north side of the school once again. Go north on Oak street and follow the signs.

Thanks to the generosity of Sydenstricker Tractor and the Versailles Chamber of Commerce, trams will shuttle fair patrons from the parking lot to the fairgrounds and back again. Only the fair workers and stage entertainment are allowed to park in the grass.

Handicap parking at the fair is available at the community center. Three spaces are marked on the east side of the building and the entire lower lot on the west side of the building is reserved for handicap parking. To enter, go north on Oak street and follow the signs.

Someone recently inquired about handicap access to the fair. While the fairground is not flat, the sloping of it is gentle enough that wheelchairs have been able to navigate it satisfactorily in the past. The gravel in the new carnival area may be a challenge until it gets packed down though. There will be at least one Wheelchair accessible restroom on the fairgrounds.

The fair board has ambitious plans for the future. Our goal is to provide a fair experience that is not only fun to attend but also helps boost the image of Stover and everyone who lives here. If you would like to be part of planning and implementing the fun that is the Stover Fair, we are always looking for good people to join us on the fair board. Drop us an email at:

Is there an event or a particular band or whatever that you would enjoy seeing at next years fair? We want to know what would get you excited about next years fair. There are many good ideas floating around that we have to sift through. Perhaps you would rather hear a 50s and 60s oldies band instead of country, or maybe classic rock. Instead of a band, you might want to see a magician one night. Maybe a freestyle motocross demonstration would excite you or a Harley Race wrestling event. All of these things are possible if the circumstances are right.
